Abstract

There are two sets of indicators developed under this project: (i) one set of indicators will be used to monitor and measure governance for the national government agencies (NGAs) and the GOCCs, and (ii) another set of indicators is intended to measure the performance of national statistical agencies and other data producers. Out of forty (40) recommended core governance indicators, twenty indicators have data available from the following data sources/agencies. The recommendations of the project are: (i) data improvement plan to address data gaps and other data problem; (ii) institutionalize the compilation of complete data series for all the core governance indicators at the national and sub-regional levels; (iii) an annual repot for monitoring governance vis-à-vis government policies and programs may be done initially at the national level; (iv) future efforts to refine core governance; and (v) establishment of an information network on governance statistics/indicators.
