Abstract

The Phase II of project aims to further enhance the appropriate methodologies developed in Phase I for a more responsive early warning system for broiler meat and pork.  In the process, developed supply and demand forecasting model for broiler meat and pork are updated and/or build alternative models, and at the same time forecast models for corn production and cost of production for broiler and swine are built. Replication of the concepts were done in selected sub-regional level/s. Part of the output is the publication of “Broiler Situation and Outlook” and “Swine Situation and Outlook” In addition, survey and monitoring of broiler hatcheries and swine nucleus and multiplier farms in the sub-national levels were conducted. Finally, a webpage within the BAS website was developed as advocacy and information tool in strengthening linkage with the private agribusiness sector and government institutions.
