Abstract

The project envisions the establishment of an electronic data archiving system in the Philippines with the following features: (i) all statistics produced by the PSS during the 20th century archived, (ii) using the safest technology and infrastructure, (iii) using a systematic methods of retrieval that can be converted into current information technology; and (iv) data are available for access by the public from individual agencies and thru the National Statistical Information Center (NSIC) of NSCB. The initial activities are: (a) formulation of archiving policy and program through the Task Force on the Electronic Data Archiving for Philippine Statistics, and (b) development of prototype archives for the National Accounts.
