Abstract

This research project endeavors to determine and assess the supply, demand and market structure for broilers in Metro Manila in order for stakeholders, both private and government, to be properly guided in planning and policy decision-making. Project was able to generate a master list of chicken suppliers, traders and retailers in Metro Manila for frame development. This resulted into a benchmark information on supply and demand of broilers in Metro Manila. Moreover, it generated volume of chicken supply to Metro Manila on a weekly and monthly basis, determined the supply by type of markets/users, established the chain of broiler market by product flow and lastly identified marketing practices.
