Effective Use of MS Excel and Powerpoint for Statistical Reports  

 

Emphasizes effective presentation of statistical reports using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application that performs financial calculations, statistical analysis, and other related operations, whereas PowerPoint is a complete presentation graphics package. Excel is an environment that makes number manipulation easy and somewhat painless. Many researchers and students prefer spreadsheets for keeping track of their data because it is user friendly and easy to learn. PowerPoint gives sufficient tools such as word processing, outlining, drawing, graphing, and visual presentation management implements - all designed for easy use and learning when giving a presentation. The course provides the ability to manage, format, chart and analyze data more effectively using Excel & PowerPoint in the generation of statistical reports.

Course Aim

Be able to apply data entry techniques, organize, manage, retrieve data for tabular presentation, analyze data from tables, create graphical objects and charts, compute basic statistical quantities with the use of MS Excel. For statistical report presentation, the using various tools of PowerPoint will be discussed.
