Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Module 3: Data Processing and Database Building

 

This course, CBMS Module 3 – Data Processing and Database Building is a sequel to the module on CBMS Data Encoding and Digitizing Maps (RTC–08) and is, hence for LGUs that have encoded all the household profile questionnaires (HPQs), of at least, two or more barangays of a district.

What will participants gain?

The training course will teach participants on the next level of data processing that will enable them to organize their data into meaningful databases and come up with core poverty indicators and poverty maps for their localities.  The training uses 3 freewares (CSPro Crosstabs, Statistics Simulator (StatSim) and CBMS-NRDB) shared by the CBMS Network Coordinating Team to LGUs.

Who can participate?

Data analysts or focal persons of CBMS in the province, city, municipality, or barangay who are computer literate particularly in Windows Explorer, MS Excel or any Spreadsheet application, and  MS Word or any Word processors.  It is highly preferred that prospective participants have attended previous CBMS modules. 
Participants are to bring the following for their training:   

  1. Complete encoded files of 2 or more barangays
  2. Masterlist of all households in the entire barangay by purok/municipality/province (households head on the lists)
  3. Spot Map of the barangays/municipality/city/province
  4. Digitized Map of the barangays/ municipality/city/province
  5. Participant should be familiar with the barangay/municipality/city/province and the location of households
  6. If bringing a laptop, please bring mouse
  7. Flash drive (USB)
