Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Module 2: Data Encoding and Digitizing Maps

CBMS (Community-Based Monitoring System) training modules are particularly designed for local government units (LGUs) doing CBMS in their local areas.  This second course on CBMS is a sequel of the module on CBMS Data Collection (RTC–03) and is, hence for LGUs that are about to encode the data collected using the CBMS instruments - the barangay profile questionnaire (BPQ) and household profile questionnaire (HPQ).  Participants of this course will be trained on computerized processing of data collected from the BPQs and HPQs using CSPro-based encoding system and digitizing maps using CBMS-NRDB.  Said softwares are shared by the CBMS Network Coordinating Team to LGUs for free.

What will participants gain?

At the end of module CBMS Module 2, participants are expected to: know the basics in CBMS file management and some necessary database operations; be familiar with the encoding and digitizing softwares; be knowledgeable on the proper encoding of accomplished BPQs and HPQs; learn how to recognize inconsistent entries; and be able to troubleshoot errors encountered; Learn digitizing maps and shapefiles; and learn matching of HPQs with map data.

Who can participate?
