Deals with basic statistical analysis such as generating tables, descriptive statistics, and conducting simple linear regression and correlation analysis with the use of statistical software STATA.

Include lectures, where concepts and methods are presented, discussed and applied on real data using STATA; interaction and clarifications; hands-on exercises, and group/workshop outputs for presentation on the last day of the course.

Course Aim

Provides an overview of descriptive statistics, use of simple linear regression, correlation analysis, and performs various basic statistical analysis with the STATA software on a number of databases.

Familiarity with key concepts and issues related to basic statistical analysis, and with main STATA commands in generating tables and figures, and performing simple linear regression and correlation analysis

Course Participants

Recommended for personnel involved or will be involved in summarizing, tabulating, presenting and interpreting statistical data. Background in statistics is not necessary but would be helpful.
